THE PROJECTIVE ARCHIVE

“Inclusive Disegno” was an intensive workshop at the School of Architecture and Design at KMUTT (King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi), participated by twenty-five students from Year 1 to Year 5. After a few warm-up exercises, students went on a 13 kilometers walk journey through the hidden community of Khlong San, guided by local architect Chatchavan Suwansawat, and KMUTT professors Sunaree Lawanyawatna, Kisnaphol Wattanawanyoo, and Martin Schoch.

Khlong San, a district featuring a rich mix of vernacular shophouses, pre1960-era buildings, temples, and gentrifying high-rises, reflecting its layered history and evolving urban fabric. The architectural diversity illustrates the tensions between heritage and modern urban development, and served as the thematic direction for the students.

Very impressed by what the students can co-create within such a short period of time.
